Hello,
I am one of Amanda's best friends Misty. I am starting this page to help Amanda with her medical expenses. So many people do not know that she has had a really tough year with her health. She is a very private person and is not one to discuss her health.
Recently things have gotten worse for her and she needs prayers to fight an infection in her body that she can't seem to conquer. She has been hospitalized 21 days this year so far. She has spent many days at home recovering plus countless doctors appointments.
She was just released from the hospital and will have to spend the next 4-6 weeks at home connected to an IV for a total of 16 hours a day. She will be receiving TPN for her nutrition and antibiotics. She will also be taking oral meds and must give herself shots daily. During these next 4-6 weeks Amanda will not be allowed to eat or drink. Everything she will get will come from the IV. She will make multiple visits to the hospital for test to evaluate the progress of her infection.
Her team of specialist in Memphis are hoping that over the next 4-6 weeks that her body will fight this infection and that it will stop spreading. Once Amanda is free of infection she will be having a major surgery which will require longer time off of work. Hopefully she can have the surgery right after the first of the year depending on her healing. Amanda has already missed days at work and will not be able to return to work until she is better. Jon has always missed lots of work because he has been by her side making sure she is taken care of.
Anyone who knows Amanda knows she has the biggest heart and has always been there for her friends and family. She never ask for anything from anyone. She has cared for so many sick patients and now its her time to be cared for.
