Hello Dearest Friends and Family,
As many of you know, I have been competing in Olympic Weightlifting for several years now, since 2011! One of my long terms goals has been to make an International team and represent the United States of America.
At University Nationals in September, I earned a spot on the team to compete in Merida, Mexico this November! Unfortunately, this is the only International competition that is not funded by Team USA. I made the University World team in 2014 but declined the spot due to funding but do not want to pass up on this opportunity again.
I was hesitant to fundraise the money for this trip but I often have friends and family tell me how much they would love to help. Everyone’s love and support through my athletic endeavors have made every moment extra special. I truly appreciate everyone’s encouraging words as an Olympic hopeful, while a lofty goal, it is not impossible! Every International competition I compete in will better my chances to represent Team USA in Tokyo for the 2020 Olympics.
I am currently a full time Graduate student at CSU Sacramento earning my teaching credential in Physical Education and student teaching. I also train about 18 hours a week and coach clients when I can.
The money I am able to raise will go directly to travel and rooming expenses. Every little bit will help!
Thank you, all!
Sincerely,
Cecily
