Hi friends!
As you probably know, having surgery is really expensive! Especially if you are a trans, disabled, chronically ill, estranged from family and going through separation. Good times! 2022 has been a Year.
Costs include: paying for non OHIP parts of gender affirming surgery (approx $1500-2000), losing 6-8 weeks of income due to recovery, and medical and personal supplies that aren't covered by OHIP, like surgical binders, over the counter medications, pillows, etc. And, last but not least, contributing to the travel and food costs of my lovely in and out of town support people.
I would be grateful for any and all community support around this daunting medical adventure. I am simultaneously anxious about surgery and recovery, and full of relief that life without chesticles will soon be real!
