My daughter's fight for life

My name is Rick Talley and I am Desere Talley's father. Many of you probably do not know that my daughter Desere has long suffered from several illnesses. She is an intensely private person and doesn't like to burden anyone with her medical problems. The few people that do know are always asking how they can help. I have come to a point as a father that I /we need help.
Desere is a wife and mother of 3 very active kids. When she was 28 years old she was diagnosed with SMA Syndrome. Basically this is where the blood supply was cut off to her intesinal tract. This led to surgery taking 9 feet of her intestines, and a permanent inability to stay hydrated or nourished. She came home from the hospital weighing 85 pounds. Although this was painful to watch we were so grateful that she survived, as the survival rate of SMA is about 1%
Unfortunately, this was just the beginning for Desere. She was later diagnosed with Lupus and now failure to thrive. The last couple of months have been amazing as the doctors started a TPN therapy (Total Protein Nutrient) for her. Since her body no longer absorbs the nutrients from food; a picc line (an internal IV) has been used to infuse nutrients into her body for 12 hours a day. This has been somewhat of a miracle for her/us. However, the expense of the TPN therapy and other medical bills have gotten out of control. Insurance has now increased the cost of TPN and will continue to do so as they believe it is an expensive therapy, and increasing the cost will help people get off of it. Getting off TPN is not an option for Desere. TPN is saving her life. TPN is why she is able to care for her kids, take them to school, to their baseball games, and to cook them dinner. She wants to watch them grow and be there for them to support them like the mother they deserve.
Desere's husband Rick works 10-13 hours a day, 6 days a week just to try and make ends meet with all these medical expenses. I am asking for anyone to help assist Desere and her family so they can catch up on medical bills, and to help pay future medical expenses. I am asking for help to keep my daughter alive. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for helping out my daughter. Our family is so grateful for all of your support!
