Hi. My name is Terri Beck. I have been friends with Lynn Harkness for over 35 years.
Three weeks ago, Lynn was diagnosed with cancer after being admitted to ECMC in Buffalo, NY, for debilitating pain in her hip that she had been experiencing for a while. Turns out the cancer had already eaten away 2/3 of her hip bone, 2/3 of one of her lungs, and part of her pancreas. While in the hospital, Lynn has received radiation treatments to keep the cancer from growing in an attempt to stem some of the pain. O, There is no hope for remission. Lynn has been told she has 3 months to live.
This Wednesday, October 5th, she will be released from the hospital and will spend a few days at in after-care rehabilitation facility in the area. Her only income is SSDI and I am looking for a new studio apartment for her as well.
I am raising money to buy a good adjustable bed that is extra comfortable due to the fact that when Lynn moves even a little bit, she experiences excrutating pain. It is Lynn's wish that the bed be donated to someone who needs it after she passes.
I should mention at this point that Lynn has no family, no husband or partner, no grown children to rely on or help her in any way. But she has me, and I know she has friends, and awesome Kenmore West Alumni.
Because I just recently relocated to Tennessee, I am attempting to do all I can to help her remotely.
.
All monies raised will go directly to Lynn. She will get that comfy bed and whatever she needs for her to be as comfortable as possible until the end. That would mean everything to her.
