Gone To Soon - RIP Kamau Derosa
Donation protected
By now, many of you may have heard of my best friend Ashley's tragic news. On Monday, September 26th, 2016 Ashley lost her husband, Kamau Derosa, to a fatal accident.
It's been devastating. This is the news you always hear on tv, not from you friend. What do you say when your best friend calls you crying saying her husband, the father of their 3 kids, and step father to her daughter just died an hour ago? Speechless. I was confused. We were all just hanging out. "Are you sure Ashley? Maybe it's a mistake." Silence. Reality started setting in. I didn't know what to do except to start crying with her. Definitely our hardest phone conversation.
It's been a hard week. Emotionally, physically, mentally. Despite this blow, I've witnessed Ashley be incredibly strong and just pick up the pieces. Between taking care of the kids, trying to keep her head up, and making funeral arrangements, I'm amazed at how she's surviving this tough time.
With the outbreak of Ashley's news, many have asked me what can they do to help and support Ashley. For those that would like to help Ashley and her kids, there is now a GoFundMe page on their behalf. Thank you in advance for your support.
