Hi, my name is Samantha Amaral. I am a stage 4 Ovarian Cancer Patient currently undergoing chemo.

I thought I had a digestive issue March of 2024, but learned that my cancer diagnosis was advanced. I got not great news about my prognosis, but know that God is greater than what we can experience.

I've decided to work toward moving to MD Anderson to be closer to my brother and his family. Also, the type of treatment provided by MD Anderson is the top in the country and gives the best chances of landing in remission.

I'm grateful to all those who are willing to help me on this journey> I am working to document this journey in the hopes of helping others face the daunting challenge of cancer.

Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated, as this is not my normal way of reaching out to people.

UPDATE:

I'm happy to report as of November 2024, I am currently in remission for stage 4a Ovarian Cancer and Malignant Plural Effusion. My doctors cannot explain how my chemo/platinum drugs and surgery worked on a three types of cancer, so let's just call it a God thing. I'm so grateful to all those who helped support me both by donating and keeping me prayer.

While my journey continues to monitor for any cancer re-emergence in the future, I remain grateful and humbled by your prayers, support, and by the doctors and medical community who treated and continue to monitor my health state.
