For all of you that know Mike you can vouch for the fact that he is a selfless individual. He is always bringing joy to the people around him and would stop at nothing to see his friends and family happy.

On September 27th, our good friend was rushed to the emergency room after he fell on his shoulder. Months earlier, he had been in a snowboarding accident which resulted in the diagnosis of a “separated acromioclavicular-joint.” His discharge papers summarized that the healing period for this type of injury would be a period of 4-6 weeks. As time went on Mike’s shoulder never quite felt back to normal, in fact, it actually started to get worse. Mike, with a strong will and courageous spirit, never complained and fought through the pain. On the night of September 27th when Mike had his fall, he found out what was bothering his shoulder was much more than a simple acromioclavicular-joint injury. After an in depth medical analysis, the orthopedist found a rare type of tumor that was masticating the superior portion of his humerus bone. The tumor was so aggressive that it spread to his acromioclavicular joint, his bicep muscle, and all throughout his lungs. A sample of the tumor was taken to administer a biopsy. The results concluded that the tumor that was causing so much pain and damage to our 23 year old friend was a giant cell tumor of the bone. The orthopedists working on Mike’s case are still unsure whether or not the tumor is sarcoma. Further lab tests are needed for the doctors to find out exactly what they are dealing with. Mike will be having a surgery at the end of this month to have the anterior portion of his humerus and rotator cuff removed and replaced with cadaver equivalents.
He has had the surgery now on his arm which ended up being more complicated and the tumor more aggressive than originally thought.  On 12/4/15 he had a biopsy of part of his lung to remove a portion with several tumors.  The tissue is being sent to pathology to determine treatment with chemo or another alternative.  There are many tumors in both lungs some larger and some as small as the tip of a pencil. He will need therapy  which the insurance will not cover along with help with the mounting medical bills, rent , utilities, food and costs he can't cover.  He will is unable to work for a minimum of a year and is in the process to apply for disability, food stamps and anything he can get assistance for.  He is currently out of work and does not have the money he needs to get through the battle that he has ahead. Mike is in need of prayer, love, and support. Any donation will be greatly appreciated.
