My step father was admitted into the neuro ICU on Sunday September 25, 2016. There is an artery that runs up the back of your skull, his tore and caused hemorrhaging. He suffered multiple strokes on the left side of his brain and in his brain stem. He has opened his eyes since then and passed the swallow test- he was able to eat jello. It will be a very long road to recovery however. I am creating this account for my mother and nephew. They are both financially dependent upon my step dad. My mother quit working when my nephew was brought into her life, he will be 9 years old on October 30th. He is autistic. He requires round the clock care, and is in multiple forms of therapy. My mother's house, along with other bills, will go unpaid until the government chooses to provide her with some sort of help. She has filed as well with my step father's employer but has heard nothing back. Rent is due soon. And as the days go by, we are praying for my step father to have tiny victories in his journey. We do not know how long it will take or if he ever will return to work, and they need help buying some time. Anything and everything you can donate would be of tremendous help.
