Claus is a 75 year old man who lives on some barges in the California, Sacramento River Delta.

He lives off the grid and many would probably call him a hermit.  Maybe he is, simply based on how he lives, but not by his personality: Claus is also an amazing soul and a friend to many. He loves people and always is happy to lend a helping hand or emotional support.

He always welcomes visitors, and I don't recall a day that I have seen him without a big smile on his face.

Last Wednesday, Claus was held up for the second time in 2 years at gunpoint and his livelihood was taken from him. There is no insurance for him, and no backup plan. He is the kind of person that trusts in the universe and in others...and did even after this happened the first time.

About me: I am a 45 year old single mother of 3. I own a UX design studio in the San Francisco Bay Area. I have known Claus for 5 years and I believe him to be one of the best people that have ever been put on this planet. In the time I have known him, he has helped me personally so much emotionally and physically with stuff I needed to get done and fixed.
