US Marine Corp Vet Family in Need
Donation protected
On, September 18, 2016, our friend, family member, loved one, and brother in arms, Gary Cozine, found himself in a life-changing situation. The cause of what Gary and his family are facing is due to nothing short of the struggles and battles that he faces everyday due to his diagnosed PTSD and TBI. The news of another loss of life of one of his Marines simply sent him over the edge. As we all know, Gary is United States Marine Veteran, whom deployed three times to combat.
4 ½ years ago I met Gary and we have been inseparable literally ever since. In the last 4 years, we have never spent more than 2 nights apart. I have 3 children, and 3 years ago, their father passed unexpectedly and tragically. Gary, not having biological children himself has done his best in being a father to my children and he loves them very much and they love him too. We are a family. We lost almost everything we had a few years ago and moved to Ohio with the smallest truck available. In the last 3 years, we have re-built together and once again have a home. Gary was the provider for our family and his unexpected departure has us wondering how long I will be able to keep the roof over our heads, the lights on and food on the table. I am frantically trying to find a job so that I can replace some of what he brought in each week, but I have also spent every waking moment doing everything that I can think of to help Gary’s immediate needs. Due to this situation, Gary has lost his job and will not be able to return to work for quite some time.
It is apparent that veteran system is broken and it has failed so many our guys that gave their all to give us the lives and freedom that we take for granted every day. Gary didn’t fail us when he signed on the dotted line and agreed to put his life at risk every single day and we cannot fail him right now. He is absolutely terrified and worried about our familyand has asked that I reach out for help. Gary and I are asking for your support. Neither of us want to. We are both self-sufficient individuals and asking for help is not something either of us are comfortable with doing, but we must humble ourselves and put our pride aside. The funds that we are able to raise will provide Gary a bit comfort while he is taking care of the demons he brought home with him from war and will help alleviate the financial burden this is having on Brittany and the children in his absence. At this moment, they are unsure how they will even make their house payment this month and how food will be put on the table in the next week. Any help that you can give will be appreciated more than you will ever know. If you can help, please find it in your heart to do so. We have all been thru so much, lost so much, and finally have rebuilt our lives to only be faced with the possibility of losing it all again. I have made the decision to stand by Gary, as giving up has never been what I do well. We will walk this road together as a family. I love this man deeply and I know Gary has the potential to lead a happy life with the thought of war and tragedy more at the back of his mind, then in taking center stage. We have chosen as a family to take his PTSD, head on and together, side by side. The children miss him so much and just want him to be the best that he can be. Please share this and I am hoping that it can be reported back to him that he is not going to be let down. We need to fight for him as he fought for us and we need to fight to get him the help he needs, as far too many of our men have become statistics. All of us thank you from the bottom of our hearts, for your time and compassion in this life changing and trying time that our family is facing.
