Surgery for Jacob

The Smith family has some exciting. Eww to share. After 6 months of advocating and with the support of teachers and doctors, insurance has finally approved surgery. Jacob will be going to California to have reconstructive ear surgery and the implementation of a Osia magnetic hearing aide. We are extremely blessed and thankful for this opportunity. Our little family of three would be traveling to California to live for 2-3 weeks. The surgery is 8-10 hours and requires 2 follow ups. One follow up 2 days after surgery and one at 2 weeks. At the last follow up his bandage will be removed and Tom and I will learn how to care for the remainder of his recovery at home. While recovering in California Jacob will be able to travel around but be limited. For example he would be able to visit the zoo, aquarium, and attend some sports events. While we hope to make recovery fun for him, there are obviously other costs. Although insurance has approved the surgery there is still a percentage that we are responsible for. In addition we are obviously also responsible for our flights, hotel, and car rental. We are extremely blessed to be able to do this for our son and anything that can be contributed would be greatly appreciated.
