I will soon be participating in a volunteer medical mission trip to Masaya, Nicaragua through VIDA (Volunteers for Intercultural and Definitive Adventures). Nicaragua has a poverty level north of 43% and growing. What we will be doing on this trip ranges from discussing with and helping medical professionals to treat and diagnose others, provide educational health insight to the families and poeple of the area, and observe certain procedures such as abdominal examinations as well as prenatal care. As many of you may know, my studies deal heavily with biomedicine and chemistry with an emphasis on the medical field. I believe that I, as well as the others that are making the trip, would be able to provide a tremendous level of help and care to the people in Nicaragua. My passion lies within being able to do whatever it is that I can to help others, especially through my field of study. It would mean the world to me if I was able to make this trip, with a little help, to help those in Nicaragua. We will be seeing about 100 patients a day in the time that we spend there. I have attached my Go Fund Me page here if anyone is interested in helping me fund for this trip (final payment is due 11/5). This money will be put towards medical supplies for the trip, transportation and food. Anything and everything is greatly appreciated.
