Hi! My name is Olive. I am a Lab/Retriever mix and I am currently 7 months old. I was born a stray on the streets of Mississippi. At 2 months old I was picked up by a stranger who brought me to a kill shelter. As I sat in a crate my rescue mom from Jackson Friends of the Animal Shelter sent my picture to the amazing people at Animal Rescue Front who put me up for adoption on their website.
My rescue mom brought me to a local vet for a checkup where they found I had parvo disease and a heart murmur. Fortunately for me I beat the odds by surviving parvo and getting adopted by a family in Massachuettes but my story doesn't end there.
After the family found out about my heart murmur they no longer wanted to adopt me. The people at Animal Rescue Front was able to find me a wonderful foster mom/family who were willing to take care of me until my current parents, Melissa and Philip found me and gave me a forever home.
My parents have loved me despite my heart murmur. They have given me many toys and dog/cat couisns to play with. Unfortunately my parents have been told that my heart murmur has progressed into a PDA and I will need heart corretive surgery or I will not have a chance at living a long life.
This is where I ask for your help.
My surgery is scheduled for Thursday October 20, 2016. It will cost my parents at the most $5,725. My cardiologist at Central Hospital for Veterinary Medicine can not believe how active and loving I am despite the severity of my condition. He believes my parents have given me something to live for, them.
My cardiologist is confident I will have a 100% recovery and success rate for living a full life like any other dog after the surgery. He has offered to donate $500 to help my parents and the great people at Animal Rescue Front has offered to donate $2000 but my parents need your help to come up with the remaining balance of $3,225. Will you help make a donation to my heart surgery fund to help give me a long life of chewing on my moms slippers and wrestling with my dad?
