Colt's Fundraiser
Donation protected
The Brothers of Legion MC in Maryland, have started a fundraising campaign for one of our Brothers, Colt, who was recently diagnosed with cancer, Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. While many of us know Colt as a Brother and friend, Colt was also instrumental in uniting the local independents and MC community over the past few years and helped lead the fight to get an anti-profiling law passed in the state of Maryland this past year, protecting the rights of those who ride and wear patches. He has helped to guide other states in their fight for Biker's Rights as well as helping to get word out through MPP (Motorcycle Profiling Project) about current events as well as the some of the battles we all face as a community. Colt gave a lot of his time and energy for this cause and now it’s time to show him what he means to us.
-Statement from Colt-
"First I want to say thank you to all who have and are offering help in our time of need. We are very fortunate that I have a very treatable form of cancer but being husband and father of 3 this is certainly becoming more of an uphill battle. I’ve always tried to be the man that offers help and have only ever asked for it when help was truly required, this is one of those times. One of the major issues we face is that I am self-employed and the primary income for the household. Medical leave is not an option nor is disability, I’ve had to scale my operations down in order to preserve relationships. My wife works but with 3 children (4, 8 and 15) it is hard to take on more hours and still make sure our kids are taken care of. This is a battle that can be won, and our family thanks you for whatever you are able to offer for support. -

While there are still a lot of questions and treatment is just getting under way, the initial prognosis is good! That being said there will be the chemo and radiation and time missed from work. While one can have the best health insurance, the missed time off work, copays and deductibles are already starting to add up. Legion MC is asking for your help. This campaign will raise money to help incur the out of pocket cost for Colt during this time. While the final costs are not known at this time our goal is to raise $10,000. 100% of all donations will go to Colt and his family to help with these expenses. Should these expenses be met any remaining portion will go to help the fight against Lymphoma.
While Legion MC has always been involved in Giving Back to the community, it is time to give back to one of our own. On behalf of Colt, we would like to thank you for your support in advance.
