In May of 2021, our dear friend Rosie had her life turned upside down. While experiencing many odd body tremors, tingling in her arm, and slurred speech, Rosie decided to go to her doctor to figure out what was going on. After a series of tests her doctor saw something abnormal and had her referred to a specialist. Once there they quickly realized that Rosie has Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as motor neuron disease (MND) or Lou Gehrig's. This disease results in the progressive loss of motor neurons that control voluntary muscle movement. It progresses rather rapidly, and it’s been hard for her to keep up. After her diagnosis things haven’t been easy. She has trouble eating and swallowing, and is having many difficulties with functioning in her daily activities. Although there is no cure for this disease, she is working with some great doctors to help her improve the quality of her life.
Over the last 12 months Rosie has been through so much. She is unable to work as her condition worsens. Additionally, she is having trouble with affording her necessary medical care and supplies. Please join us in financially supporting Rosie, who is a wonderfully independent and fierce woman. No one asks for these things to happen to them, but we can all be there for them when they do.
