This is a story about Breinne McAtee. Breinne is my daughter, and a Lukemia victim of 5yrs, willing to do what I could never do in serving the Lord! She has paid off her car, her college loans, and credit cards to live a life committed to him!
My wife, Judy, and I adopted Breeze 30 years ago now as an 8 day old baby from the mountains of Peru,
And since she was 8 years old, her every action has been to propel her toward the Mission field. Imsgine rying to guide a child who hits you with that evry day. Breinne is truly comitted to the Lord. She is continuously moving her goal to greater and greater comittment to the mission field.
In College, she prepared by securing a Business amd Marketing degree, a Associates in fine Arts degree, and a baking certificate. She has joked that baking is easier to carry around than the tents Paul made! At SIU she furthered her skills in Hospitality and Business Marketing in the Agriculture Dept.
She has marched off to four mission trips so far, but now she prepares for the mission experience of a lifetime- into the mountains of South Asia, where no missionery has ever been before to live and work with the darkened side of Hinduism and Budism. SHE IS WILLING TO GIVE EVERYTHING AND DOES EACH DAY...to the efforts of God's plan.
Two years ago, she was urged to give up her well supported and safe security of awonderful transportation manager job, and persue a stronger Bible based degree, so off she went to IHOP University in KCMO, the International House of Prayer.There, she developed a keen awareness of all of her thoughts and actions and the impact they have on the Lords plan for her. She know that she must be always in tune with His callings and promptings so that He is the driver of the impact.
Recently, she was accepted to ACTS- a wonderful missionery training program in Colorado Springs Co, where she will learn to conquer fears for the full 100% comitment that missioneries among the unenlightened must have, and they will tell their stories to people who have never heard it before, in places who may never have met a monothiest or a Christian.
She is ready now, and in the final training program before she is catapulted into the unknown with her first mission to be in South Asia. The team plans a final trek tot he top of Pike's Peak now.
Asia is also where one of her sisters was born so it takes on even added meaning for our family. Her 12 brothers and sisters stand in awe of her power and might from the Lord. They would give every cent she needs if only we had more.
Her mom and I would gladly fund it all for her-she is our angel and she truly walks with the Lord, but with 12 children, seven of whom remain at home in our Home School where mom enters her 20th year of non stop homeschooling program, we are truly financially stretched. All we have is love and encouragement and lots of prayers. Judy and I are retired railroad people but we still harbor the dream of starting our own Arizona ranch to foster raise young teens. We have fostered approximately 68 children to date, but the ranch will be the ultimate dream secured.
