As many of you know my mother had bone cancer when she was 11 years old. It was in her right leg and every doctor she saw about operating on it told her that the only option was amputation. My grandparents took her to multiple doctors and finally a doctor in Ohio did a full knee replacement on her at the age of 12. November 3rd, 2020 she had a full knee revision and everything was good until Monday night. Sunday night, January 3rd, 2021 she went to the emergency room just thinking she had an infection. After being in the ER all night and getting no treatment, and the only thing she was told was that she was to have emergency surgery to clear out the infection, they sent her home and told her that someone at the hospital was going to call her back in a couple of hours whenever her bed was ready. However, they never called. My mother, her friend, & and I all called this hospital numerous times throughout the day, every time there was a different story as to why she didn’t have a room yet. Therefore, Monday night I brought her back to the emergency room and she had to wait all night again in paint. Her surgery that was supposed to happen early Monday morning just happened on Thursday evening. After her surgery her doctor called to inform me that he cleaned all of the infection out that he could, but since the infection continued to get worse and the option for her now is to have her right leg amputated or have a very difficult and long procedure done just to risk the infection coming back, which could potentially be fatal to her. This procedure is more than likely going to happen next Tuesday, January 12th. This is something I would never do, but my mother is going to need to have her right leg amputated, she is going to try to get a prosthetic leg, and a new home. But as of now, my mother lives on the second floor. She will no longer be able to get to her apartment due to this, so she will not have find a new place to live and financially that is not ideal at the moment. Please say a prayer for her, this is something she thought she’d never have to face. Anything you could do is more than appreciated. Thank you, all.
please share this, she needs all the help she can get at the moment.
