my name is Sammantha and for those who knows me even only a little bit, you know I’m a huge animal lover!!!

In one of my trips to the Dominican Rep, last week, of the day I was returning, my flight was 3 hrs late and I told my Ubber guy to take me somewhere close by, so I can give my leftovers to a dog in the area, as unfortunately, there are many dogs on the streets. Well the 1st doggie I saw was “HOPE” - there she was crossing a dangerous street. I tried calling her attention throwing the chicken her away .. she was so scared to get close to me :(

then I was finally able to get her trust lil by lil. She was so hungry!! My chicken finished and I got her salami from a “colmado” she was eating like she never ate anything before. Then the lady I got the salami from, told me that ppl in the neighborhood tried killing hope 3 times (poison) as they don’t like dogs in the area. That broke my heart. Hope was so scared of everything, every noise would fricked out. It was so sad. When I left I was devastated. I couldn’t stop crying. I felt helpless leaving that baby behind in that neighborhood where she was unwanted. When I returned to Miami I couldn’t even sleep, thinking about her, how scared she was looking for food and water trying to survive :( From there I started asking ppl I knew to see if someone would be willing to go look for her in that neighborhood. Usually these dogs stayed in the same area. I found someone and they were able to get her. That was meant to be. I was so happy!! Now, hope has been at the vet for 3 days. She has severe anemia, needs a blood transfusion to be able to survive, she has 2 different type of parasites (she is on antibiotics) and the vet believe she is a distemper survivor as she seems to have neurological issues :( she don’t drink water, so they have her with serum. She was full of fleas and ticks. They are treating her for that as well. Even tough she is in critical condition I really want to do my all to help this soul. I took her out of the streets to cure her, make her feel good and have a happy life and hopefully trust humans again. I cannot do it alone. It’s very expensive so I’m asking all my friends and family to help with anything possible. Anything helps!!!!!! But I want to see HOPE happy and strong. Thank you ❣️
