Help for my Sister

This is Katie (Wray) McGowan and I am opening this goFundMe page for my little sister. She is struggling with an eating disorder that is taking her life right before my eyes. I am typing this in full confidence that those of you who know her or my family will not take this article's details to them just yet. I do not want to risk alienating my sister before I get a chance to raise money that will pay for her treatment and save her life.
In the Spring of this year, my sister's doctor gave her one year to two years maximum to live if she does not receive help for her disorder.
Through many talks and near-interventions, she has gone as far as receiving FMLA paperwork from her employer, and narrowing her options for treatment down to a center near her work that has already done pre-screening on her. However, she received an estimate for cost of treatment and it is above and beyond what any of us are able to cover, and that is why I am filling out this form.
I am trying to raise $7000 for just 30 days of treatment. That one month will bring her back from the edge, get her on the right path, and we have a more manageable quote for out-patient therapy, once the first 30 days has been completed. Because of the severity of her case, no treatment center will offer out-patient treatment (i.e. counseling, nutritional therapy, etc) without first enrolling her in at least a 30-day program.
Mental disabilities are sadly neglected by our healthcare system, and I have watched my sister search for help in vain for 1 year and 9 months. I am ashamed that I did not set aside my pride and ask for help sooner.
