The Alden-Conger High School Supermilage team has won an amazing trip to London for the first Shell Drivers Championship Eco-marathon Competition to be held on June 30, 2016. The students built two cars and competed at the North/South America Shell Ecomarathon in Detroit, MI. The prototype car operating on 100% ethanol won second place with 1072 mpg. The diesel Urban Concept car won first place with 525mpg...breaking a North American record!
It was announced at that time that they had won seven student and one chaperone tickets to London, along with transportation for their car.
They are a team of 17 members. At this time, it is estimated that the additional students would need $2500 each for lodging and travel. This is not including meals or activities once they are there. The team has funds for their current needs of materials for cars.
It is our hope to send the entire team together for this amazing opportunity, but they are in need of financial support for travel and lodging expenses. Chaperones are also needed, but funding for the students is more important at this time.
