My friend Tatyana is diagnosed with horrific disease - Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. Tatyana is single mother with no family to rely on, who is raising her boy, constantly overcoming obstacle that the life is toughing her way.
This fund is her only hope to win this fight!
Tatyana had immigrated to Canada from Ukraine 15 years ago alone. Escaping uncertainty she had fallen in love with the new country and later with her husband to be. Tatyana was starting her new life … Building the loving home and carrying the child little did she know her dreams were not meant to come true.
She became victim of physical abuse from the person she once loved. Constant police presence and nights spent at friends’ houses ended that relationship.
The child came to this world witnessing not tears of joy, but tears of the single mom not knowing what to do next. Rather than sharing love and raising the kid in the loving family she had begun the survival journey on her own. Learning quickly that her current degree will not help her to secure a job that will provide for her and her son, she decided to pursue her passion of helping people and becoming a nurse.
Against all odds after 8 years Tatyana’s dream had finally come true. In 2015 she is fully qualified to help people and make difference as registered nurse. Tatyana had just found a part-time job that she is quitting due to her unexpected diagnosis, losing the only source of income.
Doctors have scheduled surgery for October 19. With no benefits and savings Tatyana has to go through the chemotherapy, recovery, and other medical expenses while raising the child who is starting his life as first year student at high school.
This fund – is the only financial support that will also help with day to day expenses – rent, utilities, food etc.
This woman is a fighter that would not have given up if it was not for this illness. I want to believe in miracles and in people that can make real difference in real person’s life.
I know that Tatyana will do many great things once the disease is cured. She will continue to raise her boy to be great person, she will continue helping people. Together we will help her dreams finally come true and will take one more step towards curing this horrible disease.
