My name is Josh Davis. I am an Emergency Medicine Doctor in the United States. I am raising money to help purchase supplies for the victims of the war in Ukraine.
On February 24, 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine, escalating a conflict already ongoing since 2014. Since then, the war has displaced, injured, and killed many millions of Ukrainians. There is evidence that Russia has attacked several civilian targets. I recently visited to bring medical supplies and saw this first hand.
Currently, the war is most active in Southern and Eastern Ukraine. In addition to the damages of the war, many civilians and soldiers are overwhelming the limited hospitals in these areas. Many civilians have attempted to flee to Western Ukraine's largest city, Lviv, or neighboring countries like Poland. However, the ill and injured are often unable to flee to safety, and even so, many of the refugees are left without access to any healthcare.
Several organizations are working to correct this, but the supplies and resources are limited. I would like to raise at least $5,000 in order to send supplies back to Ukraine.
Currently, the most needed supplies are trauma tourniquets and first aid kits, but I will be working with locals to determine what else may be needed.
