Waif And Stray Rescue Mad House

My name is Ashleigh and I live in Turkey. I came here because I love the country and the climate and have over the years been getting a grasp of the Turkish language and culture. Four years ago a little cat turned up on my doorstep hungry for food and in need of medical attention. At first I was reluctant to take him in, but he was starving to death and soon warmed my heart with his persistence that I opened up my home for him to care for him, feed him and love him. That was the beginning of my cat rescue. I named him Fred and since then I have taken in many cats, all in need, some recovered from injury and illness and went on their way, some sadly died and others couldn't ever return back to the streets. In Turkey there is an extremely high number of street cats and dogs and I have done my upmost to help these poor creatures. Caring for them and doing my own little TNR (Trap, Neuter and Release) project, so far I've had over 100 operated on. Over the last few years I seem to have gained one or two or twenty + permanent residents who are unable to care for themselves out on the streets. They were either seriously ill when I took them in or have disabilities. For example I care for 5 blind and partially sighted cats, 2 with spinal injuries, a selection with legs missing or damaged. I also care for 5 dogs, one with spinal and leg injuries and one with a life long illness. As you can imagine their vet bills mount up. A lot of the animals were given to be by other people who knew I was good at helping animals recover and who said they would help with their medical and food bills, but sadly so far It has fallen to me to pay for all of their treatments, vetinerary expenses, neutering and food. These mount up monthly to a food bill of around £500 and a current outstanding vet bill of £2000, luckily the vet is allowing me to pay off in instalments and will still continue to treat those animals in need for me. Due to the ever increasing number of animals that need help and after a serious house fire I now find I really need your help.
I care for these animals out of love and have never asked anyone for help but a friend suggested I set up this page as im finding it really hard to keep up with their needs. If there were any kind animal lovers out there who would be willing to assist in any way I and the animals would be eternally grateful, might even mean I can continue my little TNR project too.
