My name is Evelyn Gerhardt-Rivera, the widow of Gabriel Rivera and mother of 3 daughters and grandmother of 4 beautiful grandchildren.
After receiving my results of my annual mammogram, a lump was detected and at the request of a specialist a biopsy was performed and the results came back to who a diagnosis of Invasive Ductal Carcinoma.
I will be undergoing a lumpectomy on Monday, October 3rd 2016 to remove a tumor on my right breast and 2 lymph nodes. Soon after surgery, my doctors will decide the course of treatment to continue my fight with breast cancer and those treatments will require travel from Santa Rosa to Albuquerque.
I will soon exhaust my leave, since I only have 2 days of paid leave with my current employer and have no short or long term disability coverage. My medical expenses will include deductibles, copays and medications if necessary.
I ask for your prayers and continued support as I fight this battle and any help will be greatly appreciated.
