Support Charlotte’s Lifesaving Transplant Journey

We are launching this GoFundMe to support Charlotte Libby and her family. Charlotte is a 15 year old high school sophomore from Rochester, NH, who was recently diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder, GATA2 gene deficiency. Due to this severe immune disorder, Charlotte is in bone marrow failure, and high risk for evolving into Acute Myeloid Leukemia. The only curative treatment for this condition is a stem cell transplant to restore normal blood and immune functions.

Charlotte’s journey began unexpectedly in October 2025 with a dermatologist visit for acne treatment. Bloodwork taken at this appointment led to a whirl-wind of bloodwork, referrals, bone marrow biopsies, genetic testing, trips to Maine Medical Center, Boston Children’s Hospital, and ultimately the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, MA where her final diagnosis was confirmed. Charlotte’s medical team has determined that her condition is worsening and needs a lifesaving bone marrow transplant now. Thankfully, after her immediate family underwent bone marrow donor testing, her older brother, Justin, was found to be a 100% chromosomal match. Following her transplant, Charlotte will spend several months in the hospital in Boston, followed by a ten-month quarantine at home in Rochester.

Despite everything she is facing, Charlotte has remained focused on her education and responsibilities. Charlotte is a high performing honors student and community member at the top of her class at Spaulding High School where she is enrolled in honors and AP courses as well as the Animal Science CTE program in Dover. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Vice President of her class, part of the Leadership Committee, a Junior Coach for Rochester Youth Spirit, and Manager for both the SHS boys’ basketball and football teams. She also is in her third year working at Lone Oak Ice Cream.

This GoFundMe is being created to help Charlotte and her family manage lost income, medical travel, and the many expenses that will come with Charlotte’s long treatment and recovery process. Your support - whether through a donation or by sharing this page - means more than words can express. Thank you for helping us support Charlotte and her family during this incredibly difficult time.
