I need a Help Me Keep a Roof Over My Children’s Heads
Asking for help is one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, but right now I don’t have another option.
I am a full-time working parent facing eviction after a series of unexpected and overwhelming events. On December 17th, I went to eviction court after falling behind on rent. I currently owe two months of rent plus January, totaling $5,679.
I bring home approximately $3,200 per month from my full-time job and work a small part-time job that brings in $100–$200 per month. I am also starting an additional part-time job on January 1st to increase my income and get back on track.
Recently, my family experienced a death that required unexpected travel to Texas, causing me to miss work and lose income. Around the same time, my car—my only reliable transportation to work—required major repairs including brakes, a radiator, and tires, totaling over $1,500. These events happened back-to-back and drained what little savings I had.
My monthly expenses are very basic:
• Rent: $1,525
• Gas & electricity: ~$200
• Cell phone: ~$220
• Insurance: ~$250
• Gas for work and school: ~$225
I am a parent to a 19-year-old who works and helps when she can while caring for her own child, and a 3½-year-old who depends on me completely. The thought of not being able to keep a stable home for my children is terrifying.
I am not asking for a handout—I am asking for help during a crisis. I am working, adding income, and doing everything I can to stabilize our situation. Any donation—no matter the amount—will go directly toward preventing eviction and keeping our home.
If you are unable to donate, sharing this page means more than you know.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any support you can offer. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
