Help Tim Reece Face Stage 4 Cancer

**UPDATE AT BOTTOM**

This GoFundMe campaign has been set up to raise money to help the needs of Tim Reece - musician, painter, and educator.
Tim is a professionally trained fine artist, an internationally accomplished drummer (most notably for his work in The Album Leaf ), and is the founding general manager of the The School of Rock Aurora. He is known for his thoughtful, compassionate nature, his incredible depth of spirit, and his natural ability to master various artistic mediums.

In August of 2016, Tim was diagnosed with aggresive Stage 4 cancer.  After being admitted to hospital care for extreme stomach pain, medical professionals began a series of tests - their studies revealing his cancer as terminal and incurable, leaving him precious little time left.  As a vegetarian of over 20 years, a certified yoga practitioner, and even at one time in his childhood a candidate for Olympic Training as a gymnast, Tim has always valued physical activity and proper care of his body, which makes the news especially surprising and out of the blue to those who know him.

He is receiving excellent care from top doctors at the Rocky Mountain Cancer Center in Denver, CO, who are tirelessly exploring options for treatments for Tim, the first step being to slow his cancer with an aggresive chemotherapy program, which he has already begun.  The community of The School of Rock Aurora have been devoted and dilligent in their help, even setting up a daily food chain of vegetarian meals. His family has been right by his side, rallying behind him and encouraging him as he faces the coming physical realities of his illness.

While Tim is benefitting greatly from this support system, he still faces many financial and physical difficulties on his road ahead. We believe that with a little help from his friends, we can make a great difference in his comfort, his ability to embrace and celebrate life, and to continue to creatively explore and ponder this world, which is one of Tim's most lasting and powerful contributions to us all.

Please consider donating to this man's life - a giant to those who know him, and a wonder to learn about for those who have not met him. All proceeds will go to Tim to face the challenges and medical expenses he will be fighting against, and he will definitely fight, as his charmingly stubborn and steadfast nature is a force against any life struggle that anyone could face - Tim will not back down easily.

If you have had the fortune of meeting or befriending Tim over the years, you likely know how greatly he would appreciate your support - please share this campaign with others, as we stand with him to live his way with the dignity and courage that he has built his whole life upon, and to give back for all that he has joyfully given to us.

***UPDATE***
04/04/2017

After an intensive 6 month chemotherapy program, which had yielded a very hopeful and positive prognosis from his medical practitioners, Tim returned to the hospital a few weeks after the end of his treatment to find out why he was still feeling in so much pain. From these new tests, doctors discovered previously unnoticed tumors.  Doctors again restored his original diagnosis of aggressive, terminal Stage 4 cancer.

Tim is living at his home in Denver now, under hospice caretaking and comforted by his loved ones. He is no longer pursuing chemotherapy.  He has just finished and printed a poetry book titled, 'A Thousand Loves On Time'.  His solo record that came out last month, 'To plan is a luxury - to dream, a birthright.', had a successful album release party in Brooklyn, which Tim was unable to attend due to his health. His band Via Satellite is in the last stages of completing their final album, 'A Thousand Mountains.'

Towering giant of a man. These are the best words to describe what an inspiration Tim's life has been and continues to be. He is absolutely unique in his vision and ethic, and the world is better with him in it.  Please celebrate his life with us, and consider donating to aid him in his final days.
