Whitney and Jamie met in their hometown of Santa Cruz thirteen years ago and have been forming a loving partnership ever since. Three years ago they started a new life in San Francisco so Whitney could attend graduate school to become a nurse practitioner specializing in providing care to homeless and HIV/AIDS affected populations.

Because of their mutual love for the beach and ocean, Jamie and Whitney decided to get married in beautiful Sayulita, Mexico. Shortly after arriving for their wedding, all of the cash needed to pay for the wedding was stolen. Thankfully no one was hurt.

This was devastating for Whitney and Jamie, who had been saving for the wedding for years. Whitney had even taken on an extra job on top of being a full time student to help reach their savings goals. With this theft, all of Whitney and Jamie's hard work, saving, and budgeting was lost.
