Help Travis Franklin Heal After Tragic Hit & Run Accident

Donation protected
Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted supporters,

On Thursday, May 22, 2025, our beloved Travis Franklin was involved in a tragic motorcycle accident in Salinas, CA, on John Street near the Highway 101 northbound exit. Travis was critically injured after a collision with a red Mustang, whose driver fled the scene, leaving him in need of urgent medical care.

Travis is currently fighting for his recovery, facing significant medical challenges due to the severity of his injuries (broken pelvis, broken tib/fib, multiple spine fractures, etc.). As he battles through this difficult time, we are reaching out to our community for support to help cover his medical expenses, rehabilitation costs, and other financial burdens that have arisen from this tragedy.

Your generous donations will go directly toward:
- Medical bills and hospital stays
- Ongoing rehabilitation and therapy
- Supporting Travis’s family during this challenging time

Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference in Travis’s journey to recovery. If you’re unable to donate, please share this page with others to spread the word.

We are incredibly grateful for your love, prayers, and support as Travis fights to regain his strength. Let’s come together to show him he’s not alone in this battle.

Travis is a vibrant soul whose love for life shines through in everything he does. A devoted family man, he cherishes every moment spent with his loved ones—mother, father, sister, and nieces—creating memories filled with laughter and warmth. Travis has always had a passion for motorcycles, a love that began when he was just a kid racing dirt bikes. Now, as he pursues his dream of enrolling in medical school to help others, Travis’s determination and big heart inspire everyone around him. His journey is one of courage, balancing his ambitions with the daily challenges of managing diabetes, a condition he’s navigated with resilience since childhood.

This tragic accident has put Travis’s dreams and recovery on a challenging path, but his spirit remains unbreakable. Your support through this GoFundMe will help cover his mounting medical bills, support his ongoing care as a Type 1 diabetic, and ease the financial burden on his family as he fights to heal from critical injuries sustained in the Salinas crash. By donating, you’re not just helping Travis recover—you’re uplifting a man who has spent his life chasing his passions, caring for his family, and working toward a future where he can give back through medicine. Please consider contributing or sharing this page to show Travis that our community is behind him every step of the way.

Any updates as to the recovery and the suspect that did the hit and run will be posted here!

With heartfelt thanks,
Friend and godfather,
Andrew Vogl

UPDATE 5/28/2025

Travis got the left leg and thumb done two days prior. Rod in leg up to knee for the tibia and fibula compound fracture of leg. He pinned right side of pelvis to hold it somewhat together. Day before the leg fix.

Today was to get the entire pelvis back together and sitting right but he broke it in 1/2 and the left side was major broken he did put that mangled mess back together but didn’t have enough time to attach the other half which is just held by a couple screws which wasn’t as broken up as the left side.

8 hour surgery was a long time. The next one won’t be as long or as difficult I don’t think. That’s the latest update!
