Bringing Sunshine to Sheila Matthews
Donation protected
Dearest family and friends of Sheila Matthews,
Our mother needs our help. In February, Sheila was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma aka a type of breast cancer. After finding a lump on her own and requesting a mammogram, her doctors followed up with several exams, ultrasounds, biopsies, an MRI and a PET scan throughout February and March. In conclusion, some of the cancer areas will be removed during surgery; a double mastectomy. Unfortunately, some of the cancer lies between the two muscles in the right breast where surgery will not be an option and where radiation and chemotherapy will follow.
Family and friends who have reached out to her already with your loving words of encouragement and prayers, thank you. Many have asked, “what can we do to help?” Mom is not one who asks for help. She is a giver through and through. Against her wishes, we have decided to create this page to help with the financial burden she is about to face. We realize over these past few months many are home bound and laid off work. It is a tough time for everyone. And just two days before her double mastectomy, our dad was laid off too. Anything you can give, no donation is too small. Let’s shower Sheila with the love and generosity she has given to so many before this. Let us stand up and stand strong in showing her she is not alone!
Due to food and non-food allergies please refrain from homemade meals or flowers.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,
Cortney Aungst & Kadee Kline
