Send Amy to Volleyball Tryouts in Europe

Friends, Family, and those who believe in the power of dreams,

If you're reading this you probably already know how hard I've been working toward my goal of playing volleyball professionally. You've probably already encouraged me to keep going, to use my passion and energy to pursue my deepest desires, to struggle to be better...

My most recent experience with the Northern California Dream Team has truly been life-changing. Playing volleyball with professionals was a great experience that showed me that I can compete at a higher level with a little more hard work and determination.

I want to play. I want to compete. I want to grow. I want to improve: enough to come and play for the Northern California Dream Team next year. So, I've decided to keep dreaming and take action. I want to give playing abroad a shot, but I need your help.

BringitUSA.com is a volleyball agency that places players with teams in countries with professional leagues. In August they host a "Firesale" in Maribor, Slovenia to showcase American volleyball players to European coaches. If offered a contract to play, I could start on a team as soon as August and return as late as March 2014. Normally, a contract includes a furnished apartment, a roundtrip airline ticket (to Europe and back to the States once the season has ended), health insurance, local transportation, and (depending on skill level, country of play, and team finances) a salary for living expenses. With your help I'll have the opportunity to make my dream of playing professionally a reality, and if I'm lucky enough to land a contract, in addition to fulfilling my team obligations at practices and games, I'll be learning a new language and experiencing a new culture!

I am beyond excited and eager to tryout. I have organized this page for anyone who would like to donate towards my tryout expenses. My goal is to raise $4,000. This includes: airfare, food and housing for 10 days, exposure to coaches throughout Europe, and my in-country transportation. I appreciate you considering my efforts and, in doing so, maybe even sponsoring my trip! Anything will do! Even if you can't help me financially, I ask that you keep me in your thoughts and prayers as I prepare to embark on the next leg of this journey. Whether or not I make a team, I plan to keep a blog with updates about my experiences playing abroad here: http://hardworkworks.blogspot.com/.

I invite you to share this page around the web to help me spread the word about my plan. Thank you for your support!
