My son, Maxx, was diagnosed with Unilateral Coronal Synostosis when he was three months old. This is a not so common, non genetic, birth deformity.
On October 19th my son will under go cranial-facial surgery at Children's Hospital. It is an 8 hour surgery that will require a blood transfusion and at least a one week stay to recover. Children's Hospital has kindly put together a blood drive in his honor on October 15th from 8-10am, link below. Even if you are not a match, Maxx is O+, you can still donate and help children in need.
My son Maxx is the most caring, loving and sweet little boy. We are extremely nervous but know that this surgery is the only way he will flourish and grow like every other child. My husband and I don't like asking for help or setting a "goal" and anything will help aid in the surgery, rehab, helmet and healing care that Maxx will need.
We love you all and thank you for your continued support on our journey with our little Maxxie Boy!
