Deep Work in Fighting Racism Globally – Going Beyond the Superficial
The Anti-Racist Global Citizen©: Support anti-racism work on 4 continents, in 8 languages, with a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural team representing collectively 50+ years in the fight against racism and for inclusion. The struggle continues!
It has been a long time coming, but in the global wake-up call of George Floyd’s death, I decided to formally launch my organization to add more depth in the analyses. I created the Anti-Racist Global Citizen© to get it right and serve as a reliable hub of information and consultation to educate, reflect, and respond.
I need your support.
I am from Brooklyn, New York. I now live in Stockholm, Sweden after living, working, and studying in other places in Europe and Asia. Racism is alive and well everywhere I have been. I see the physical and emotional effects it has had on Black ex-pats, asylum seekers, immigrants of color who struggle with social integration and inclusion. Often, even with professional credentials, many are socially rebuffed and economically marginalized wherever they find themselves.
The Anti-Racist Global Citizen© is a highly adaptable organizational method that makes a difference in the quality of discussion, perceptions, accountability, and decision-making on issues addressing racism and giving real meaning to forming sustainable and inclusive practices.
NO MORE SUPERFICIAL RESPONSES TO RACISM -The Team is here to do the work!
Current instruction to children and adults on issues of race often glosses over or ignores attitudes, behaviors, and mythologies that underlie racist structures. If these underlying issues are not addressed, they will continue to self-perpetuate. This is the deep work needed to respond to racism substantively. We are here to do the work!
The Team
We are a women-led, international team of community activists, trainers, a few lawyers, and other professionals. The team is inter-generational and has collective experience in grassroots organizing, human rights advocacy, legal analysis, management training, consulting, for-profit and not-for-profit domestic and international organizational development, and a range of teaching experience from elementary to graduate school and adult education. We share analogous experiences in the United States, West Africa, Brazil, Mexico, and Europe. We expect to grow as we take on issues and more fully address needs. And, that's just the start! Our major languages are English, Spanish, Catalan, Portuguese, French, Wolof, Swedish, and Mandarin (with a little Cantonese thrown in).
About Me
I am an international human rights attorney who has worked on many issues including children, women, indigenous people, and the disabled on three continents: North America, Europe, and Asia. I am also an inclusion practice expert, mediator, trainer, and management coach. My background is in organizational development and human resources management. I help organizations prevent and mitigate issues of discrimination, harassment including sexual harassment, and various forms of management and co-worker abuse.

Listen, book clubs and public statements without further inputs, will not rid our respective cultures of racism. It takes concrete, step-by-step, intensive work. We know the world can benefit from the work we do, however this work comes with hard costs. We give a lot, but we must cover costs, pay bills, and maintain office functions, too.
