Dadrian's Medical Fund

Donation protected
My name is Denise Thompson. I started this fund for my good friend and coworker, Dadrian Smith. He nevers asks for money and is one of the most humble people I know. He and his wife have been trying to pay his hospital bills but simply don't have the funds to do so.
I have sat Dadrian down and asked him some questions. Below are his responses.

How did your health issues all start?

"It started as a random pain in my side that eventually escalated to this excrutiating pain that I could no longer handle. With that I visited the emergency room and they had to put two doses of morphine in me to calm down whatever was wrong. Then, I was released and had to find a family doctor somewhere in Amarillo to find further problems. A week and a half went by and I encountered Dr. Darrell Deloach. He began to pray over me and told me he would help me in any situation that occured during this time. After a gallbladder ultrasound, they recommended me to Amarillo Diagnostic Clinic. I was referred to Dr. Shear. I was appointed for an endoscopy, where they stick a camera down your esophagus to look around in your stomach. They found a hernia and other minor issues. Long story short, the doctor scraped tissue from the hernia near my stomach without telling me, which in turn sent me a bill I was unaware of. Several weeks later I referred back to Dr. Darrell and he had little information to give me about my diagnosis. Basically, they don't know what's wrong and it has been a huge challenge, but I know the Lord is working through consistant prayer and I am getting better each day. However, the issue of money still resides."

What does it look like for you now?

"I am working two jobs. One, as a Wesley Academy Intern, where I have to raise my own support already, and two, as a youth director at Friona United Methodist Church. I have been learning to trust in God and that He will provide for my every need, however the money situation, especially with the hospital bills, has put a strain on Rebecca and I. I currently make around $1450 a month with my combined paychecks. On top of my rent, which is $600 monthly, I have to suddenly pay the costs of my hospital bills. My radiodology bill is $425, the endoscopy procedure is $610, and the bill in which I was not aware of is $970. All of this together is a little over $2000. With all of that, a brother needs some help."

What do you hope people will take away from this?

"Everything that is given will be put straight toward my medical bills. I can't say how thankful I would be to receive this gift of paying off these debts. I believe full heartedly the Lord will provide and with this generous donation, I know that God will bless those who give, back ten fold. Being in full time ministry has been a struggle in the fact I have to ask for money, but here in the Wesley Academy as I am growing in my walk, I am also building my courage to believe God will provide as well as put my need out there."

If you believe in Dadrian Smith and would like to donate, any amount will be gladly received. Thank you for your prayers and support!
