Hi my name is Erica Todd, I am starting this campaign to raise money for my parents David and Lori Jones to help support them financially through this very trying time in their lives. My dad isn't working as often as he would like due to his illness. A couple of months ago dad began spitting up blood and taking several naps during the day. Anyone that knows dad he is very active with work, church, horse shoes, spending time with family, his dog Gibbs and watching his Redskins. To top it off he never told any of us what was going on. A couple of weeks ago one of dad's employers came to mom telling her that dad told him he has been having some pain and spitting up blood but not to tell anyone. Dad knew when mom found out she would worry because he has never complained about feeling bad. Once mom found this out she called Dr. Vijay right away, dad was brought in that afternoon for a CT Scan of his chest and that showed a mass in his right lung. Dr. Vijay then wanted dad to go for a PET Scan with dye from his eyes down to his hips. He had this done 9/7/16 in Salisbury. That evening mom got the devastating news that it was cancer. The PET Scan had shown he has cancer in his lungs, liver, lymph nodes and adrenal glands. Next they had appointment with Dr. Wehberg on 9/12/16 he stated he wanted dad to have a biopsy done of lungs and lymph nodes. He went for his biopsy on 9/19/16; the doctor that did his procedure came out to talk with mom and I letting us know that the procedure went well but dad's cancer was stage 4 and his lungs were to bad for surgery. The type of cancer he has is adenocarcinoma. He has his next appointment 9/27/16 at the cancer center to meet with the team of doctors and then has a MRI of the brain that afternoon. Our family doesn't like to ask for help but we know what the expense is going to be for dad to get the help he needs with medical and helping with the bills at home. Please continue to pray, show love and if possible help with some financial support.
