"Be bold. Dive deep. Converse. With the right perspective, you'll learn more than you ever knew before starting."
- Megan Sloss
On September 18th, 2016, the world lost a beautiful and incredible person. Megan Sloss planned on spending her career as a social worker helping those in need, and she would have made a significant difference in the lives of her clients. While Megan is gone far too soon, she still managed to leave a huge impact on those who knew her.
Megan attended Central College for undergrad where she majored in sociology and was on the dance team. Megan was currently getting her Master's in Social Work at the University of Iowa, was completing her internship at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, and worked at Iowa KidSight.
The University of Iowa Graduate Social Work Student Association is collecting funds to start a scholarship in Megan's honor. The scholarship will be presented annually to a full-time first year MSW student on the Iowa City campus. The recipient will demonstrate spiritual values, family and community involvement, and their passion for working in either the mental health field or with children. We want the legacy of Megan's kindness, passion, and dedication to bettering the lives of others to be passed on to future students studying social work.
