Kristen Esler Robertson Liver Fund
Donation protected
Kristen (Esler) Robertson is a Palisades Class of '89 graduate from Revere, PA currently living in Port St Lucie, FL. When she was 10 years old she was dignosed with an autoimmune disease called autoimmune hepatitis. Her own immune system was attacking her liver and destroying it. She was told she was going to need a liver transplant to survive. She had that transplant on 7/13/1993 and has done fantastic until recently.
In August of this year (2016) after months of not feeling well again a liver biopsy was performed she was informed that the autoimmune hepatitis once again was destroying her transplanted liver. She was told she would need another liver transplant. After 2 months of testing and endless Dr appointments she has been placed on the liver transplant list at the Cleveland Clinic in Weston, FL.
Though Kris has health insurance, she has been told that not all the expenses will be covered including medical, prescription, travel to and from the hospital, and living expenses after the transplant as she will have to stay close to the hospital. Her co-insurance just to have the transplant is $4000 alone and her social worker and financial advisor had advised her and her family to raise an additional $12000 to $14000 for the other costs. This fund is to help offset those costs.
Since Kris has now been listed the call from the hospital could come at any time for her transplant.
Any donation amount is greatly appreciated and will go towards all that is mentioned above.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and any donation amount will be greatly appreciated.
God Bless You All!
