I met Beto here in Mexico some three years ago. He lives in a provincial town with his family and ekes out a living as a local artist. He was after experiencing increasing pain diagnosed as requiring urgent spinal surgery.
This a complicated procedure and requiring payment for the procedure and six months of convalescence, follow-up treatment and physio. His income is little more than 3600US$(£3000)/yr when he is able to work and thus has little in the way of reserve funds to cover the costs. Family and friends have added to his calendar appeal but this barely covers all the costs of mex$250 000.
Funds are urgently needed to pay the medical fees and to be able to support his family while unable to work during his recovery. All donations will be gratefully received no matter how small. Please make your donations here or those whom are in US or Mexico direct to Beto.
I live in Scotland and Mexico with my wife hence my request here to help Beto cover his medical fees and support his family until he can get himself back on his feet. He is an incredible guy. BIOGRAFÍA DE ADALBERTO BERNAL AGUILERA
Artista puruandirence a quien cariñosamente conocemos como Beto Aguileta, nace el 7 de Marzo de 1977, padre de 4 hijos, tres mujeres y un hombre, abuelo de una pequeña de 2 años.
Por más de 20 años se ha dedicado a plasmar la belleza, la autenticidad, la cultura y las tradiciones de Puruándiro a través de sus obras de arte e impartiendo clases de pintura en el centro cultural del Pueblo, ha pintado más de 150 cuadros que se dan a conocer a la población en calendarios anuales, y en exposiciones al aire libre, trascendiendo fronteras.
Sin embargo ahora está pasando por una situación de dificultad en su salud física a causa de una lesión en la columna que inició hace 22 años por una caída, aunada a una condición genética en el coxis, médicamente llamada: Espandilolistesis pb. Trauma L5-s1 grado 2 demeyerdimg, lo que le ha ocasionado dolores insoportables, de forma ininterrumpida en el último año, a tal grado que le impide dedicarse a pintar, siendo esta actividad la única fuente de ingreso para sostener a su familia.
La solución a su problema es una cirugía que requiere instrumentación transpedicular Ls-S1 + recalibraje transforamiral LS-S1 + reducción de Listers, cotizada en mxn$140,000.00 aproximadamente.
Percibe alrededor de mxn$6000 de salario al mes, no cuenta con seguro social, ni está afiliado a ninguna compañía que le solvente sus gatos médicos, de tal forma que le llevarían 23 años de su trabajo para pagar la cirugía que requiere con urgencia. Sin tomar en cuenta los medicamentos y los tres meses de rehabilitación en los que prácticamente estará en recuperación.
En los últimos meses la armonía familiar se ha visto afectada por la angustia e impotencia de postergar la cirugía por falta de recursos económicos, el estado de ánimo de nuestro artista ha sido de tristeza, depresión e impotencia al experimentar cada vez más dolor físico que le recuerda la urgencia de su cirugía, que de no realizarse, el dolor se hará tan intenso al grado que ningún analgésico lo podrá contrarrestar y le impedirá caminar y valerse por sí mismo y desde luego no podrá dedicarse a su profesión que le provee el sustento de su familia.

Puruandirence artist whom we affectionately know as Beto Aguileta, born on March 7, 1977, father of 4 children, three women and one man, grandfather of a 2 year old girl.
For over 20 years he has dedicated himself to portraying the beauty, authenticity, culture and traditions of Puruándiro through his works of art and teaching painting classes at the Pueblo Cultural Center. He has painted more than 150 paintings they make the population known in annual calendars, and in outdoor exhibitions, transcending borders.
However now he is going through a situation of difficulty in his physical health due to a spinal injury that started 22 years ago due to a fall, coupled with a genetic condition in the coccyx, medically called: Espandilolistesis pb. Trauma L5-s1 grade 2 demeyerdimg, which has caused unbearable pain, uninterrupted in the last year, to such a degree that prevents him from painting, this activity is the only source of income to support his family.
The solution to your problem is a surgery that requires transpedicular instrumentation Ls-S1 + transforamiral recalibration LS-S1 + reduction of Listers, quoted in mxn $ 140,000.00 approximately.
