Most of you know we have five awesome boys. However, a couple of months ago, Julia moved in with us and we are working on a legal guardianship so we will officially be her parents very soon. She is a wonderful 14-year-old whom we knew from church. We are so excited to have her as a part of our family and have grown to love her as one of our own in a very short period of time. Help us welcome her to the family! What most people don't know is that Julia grew up in very difficult circumstances and spent many months homeless, hungry and living in hotels and out of her mother's a car. This past year, the day before Mother's Day, Julia tragically lost her mother. With few options, we decided to have her come live with us and she has been a wonderful blessing to our family. We decided that it would be best for Julia to attend a small private Christian school with our other two high schoolers (Matthew and Mark) as Julia had previously been bullied in public school and had difficulty making the right kinds of friends due to her circumstances. As you can imagine, private school is not cheap and runs about $8,000 per year X 4 years = $32,000, however we were able to negotiate a reduced fee and have tapped into the Worthy Student Fund through our local church. Julia has big plans of going on to nursing school once she graduates from high school. We have no doubt that she will go on to obtain her goals. I figure with nearly 1,500 FB friends, if everyone kicked in $20 bucks each, we've got this. Of course, some will give more and others will give less, but that is okay too. If you have PayPal you can contribute to: [email redacted] as (Friends and Family) and it will save the fees associated with GoFundMe.com.
