MICA Pre-College Residency Program

This summer at Maryland Institue College of Arts (MICA) Pre-College, I will experience one of the most challenging and rewarding opportunities for young artists and designers. Collaborate with MICA expert faculty, visit working professionals, earn college credit, learn how to put together an application portfolio that stands out, and dramatically expand your creative skills. Live, learn, and socialize on campus with other creative-minded students like myself from all over the world. In addition, travel to the global centers of art and design: New York, Washington, DC.
My name is Ezinne Blossom Ibekwe, a high school junior in Baltimore, Maryland. I plan to pursue a career in the arts while also helping people and this the first step to achieving my dreams. This program offers a great opportunity for me to build my portfolio, gain college credits and get a first hand experience college life prior to actually attending college. Upon receiving my acceptance letter, I have already received already received a financial award of $2,350 . Tuition and fees total $4,700. I still need $2,350, by June 1st to be able to attend the month long program.
Estimated cost include:
- $500 for Core Class
- $250 for Workshops
- $150 for Museum fees for trips
- $450 for spending money (art supplies, laundry, and other miscellaneous items)
-$250 for boarding necessities
