Bagnato family lost their home
On April 1st, the Bagnato family was forced to evacuate the home they had lived in for 38 years, the Coopérative d'habitation Sainte-Anne in Griffintown. They were told that a condominium building project (Brickside) had caused irreparable and life-threatening damage to the foundations and structure of their building. Authorities told them to pack a bag and relocate for a week.
They would never be allowed to set foot in their home again.
In the night of Sunday April 10th, the building was torn down, with all of their possessions and memories still in it. The Bagnato family could only watch as their life came crumbling down in front of their eyes.
This is a wonderful family who has lived for decades in a historic part of Montreal that the city is letting be disfigured, thanks to multiple condo projects.
Please give what you can. We can help make this horrible wrong a little bit right.
