Jerry was travelling through Oregon when he met me in Ashland and decided to stay here for a while. A series of events led me to be unemployed and without a home. It has been a wonderful summer in Ashland thus far and have plans to live on a friends property for a few months to work and save money to get our feet on the ground. We were going to go there this week until I was randomly attacked by a man with a knife on Monday Sept 19th @ about 7:30 p.m. at the entrance of Lithia Park in Ashland.
Jerry & I were sitting on a blanket watching netflix, he got up to use the restroom and when he returned I was crouched in a bush covered in blood crying. I blacked out from the moment he left until I was in our hospital room. I guess I pointed at the man sitting at a bench across the way at told Jerry he attacked me with a knife. Jerry went over there to inquire and the man drew a knife and asked if he wanted some to. Then he attacked Jerry.
We are raising money so that we can have a stable warm place to heal. We are unable to carry our packs and unable to work. Since we are unable to work other expenses that we have can't be met. My phone won't work without being plugged in, I have a storage unit that I have to move my belongings into a cheaper storage unit. Travel expenses to do this as well as camping gear, warm clothes, medical expenses & food.
Another scenario would be to save money for a ticket to Witchita, Kansas (where Jerry is from) to stay with Jerry's Dad if spending the winter in this area doesn't work out.
We are temporarily staying at a friends home (gratefully) and would truly appreciate the funds as soon as possible.
I don't know where we would be if it wasn't for all of your support and help. Unable to carry our packs and the potential of pneumonia with the rain and cold (Jerry had a tube in his lung as it was punctured) make our situation more complicated.
We weren't sure how much to set our goal for b/c truly anything helps and received with deepest gratitude ~ *
Thank you all for your support, prayers and love.
Many Blessings to you all!
