This poor puppy dog was found abandoned, shivering, starving, skin and bones in Gadsden county Florida on December 12 by my son and his friend while working out in the area. They attempted to see if it belonged to anyone and took it to the vet to have it scanned for a chip-it did not have one. The vet said it looked like it had been thrown out of a vehicle and confirmed it has a broken leg. Both my son and son's friend are 19 year olds working a minimum wage job and do not have the means to afford to have this poor puppies leg fixed. We have all made numerous phone calls in hopes of getting some financial vouchers or assistance with the cost to fix the puppies leg. We have not found any programs that help in this situation. The vet said they can only offer a credit account to them to make payments for the necessary services which is estimated at $3500. My sons friend can offer the puppy a warm loving home but being stuck with a huge bill at such a young age for having compassion for an apparently abandoned animal is a hard pill to swallow. The only other option offered is to turn him into the animal shelter to be euthanized. We are putting this out in hopes that perhaps we could raise at least part of the money to help in this tragic situation. If anyone knows of some other options to help this dog get the medical care it needs, it would be greatly appreciated. And I know it's a busy time of year, but if anyone could possibly help financially to raise money to pay to have the dogs broken leg treated, it will be greatly appreciated - every little bit will help. The puppy is being fed and is warm in the meantime waiting to see if a miracle can happen. Thanks for your help.
