For reasons unbeknownst to us, bad things happen to the most amazing people. Unfortunately, bad luck has struck a dear friend who is loved by many.
Mike was traveling through the Northern Arizona University campus during the afternoon hours and was flipped from his bicycle. We aren't sure exactly what occurred, however, what we do know is that he is VERY VERY LUCKY TO BE ALIVE!!! His head took most of the impact, unfortunately. Mike fractured his skull and had severe hemorrhaging. Epidural hematoma is a type of traumatic brain injury where a buildup of blood occurs in the skull. Doctors had to immediately remove part of the skull in order to allow swelling of the brain. It took 18+ staples in his head to finish the procedure! The surgery went very well and Mike was taken off the respirator after a few days.
Mike is a restaurant manager and bartender in Flagstaff, Az and will have no income on his long road to recovery. As you may or may not know this type of work requires a daily presence to insure a stable income. The Funds you will graciously be providing will be used to help Mike recover from the large financial burden that he is about to endure as a result of his numerous and unavoidable hospital bills, doctor visits and rehab. Donations will also help Mike with everyday bills such as rent and utilities since he is unable to move back to California with his parents due to insurance stipulations.
Even the smallest of donations would mean the world to Mike, his friends, and his family, regardless of his pride in being self sufficient!
