Baby Brodie Alan Howe

Dear Family and Friends,
It’s with a heavy heart that I write this for my amazing cousins’ Tasha and Jeff Howe. On September 22nd they suffered the loss of their beautiful baby boy, Brodie Alan Howe. He was born at 12:57 am and went to be with the Lord at 1:31 am. Brodie was perfect in every way. He weighed 4 lbs / 11 oz and was 16” long. He had a full head of black hair like his Mommy and beautiful grey/blue eyes like his Daddy.
After 7 long hard years of trying to conceive, their prayers were finally answered on March 9th. On April 30th they announced to the world, they were finally expecting! Everyone was beyond happy for them. The planning and preparing for the arrival of their baby instantly went into full force. However, at 19 weeks Tasha and Jeff were told that she had no amniotic fluid. Tasha and Jeff wanted a second opinion and were hopeful Brodie would start developing amniotic fluid on his own. Then again at 24 weeks, Tasha was told that she still had no amniotic fluid. The doctors told her to wait until she was 28 weeks to see if Brodie would eventually start producing amniotic fluid and if not, they would give her an amniotic fusion. Unfortunately, at 28 weeks there was still no change and the amniotic fusion was not possible. It was at this time that Tasha and Jeff were confirmed by the doctors that Brodie hadn’t developed any kidneys. Without the kidneys, the amniotic fluid could not be produced. Without amniotic fluid, Brodie’s lungs would not develop properly and be too weak to breath on his own outside of her womb.
However, at every ultrasound visit baby Brodie had a strong heartbeat, was very active and growing right on track, so Tasha and Jeff never gave up hope and prayed for a miracle. They decided to carry on with the pregnancy and let Brodie go on his own time and give him every chance for survival.
Tasha went into active labor on her own Sunday September 18th. She endured hard labor until doctors made the decision to rush her in for an emergency c section Wednesday night, September 21st at 11 pm.
Brodie was born alive after the doctors pulled him out of Tasha! He fought a good fight through a stressful 3 day labor process just to have his short time with his parents. Brodie opened his big blue eyes to say hello to his Mommy and Daddy. Jeff held him immediately after he was born and Tasha held him during his last moments of his life. Tasha and Jeff are amazing parents and never gave up hope on their beautiful baby boy.
During these difficult times we are collecting donations for funeral costs and medical bills.
Thank you for your love and support.
