CandleLight Foundation is a non profit organization in Seattle, WA that was founded by Joseph Bigham, Chukwuma Okereke, Mohammed and Adian Talib. The primary objective of this organization is to meet the health needs of poverished homelessness and uninsured people in the downtown area of Seattle by having a mobile health clinic that consist of Doctors, Pharmacists, Nurses, Medical Students, and Undergraduates. We are partnering with multiple medical organizations such as Harborview, UW Medical Center, and the Old Salvation Army to help provide these services.
The CandleLight team decided to choose downtown Seattle because of the number of people that have little to no way of receiving accomodation for their appointments and no medical insurance to get their medical needs assessed. Majority of the population has been diagnosed with schizophrenia, cellulitis, HIV, hepatitis B, STI's, and many other chronic diseases. The clinic will be available every other Tuesday in the Pioneer Square Park in which most of this population of people reside during the day. We strongly believe in being the voice of these people by providing medical care to them in which will fulfill one of the most important aspects of Human life.
The money that is being raised for this project will go towards a RV, medical equipment, and other miscellenous expenses. The projected date for the project to launch is 11/1/2016.
The CandleLight Team is going to be very thankful to every single donation that is donated to us because this cause is something that not only we should be looking to solve but for the whole country to look into.
