Me and Larry
This is our brother Lee with goofball Leah!
Heres some pictures from "Thanksmas" which is our own holiday we celerbrate together every year for the past 16 years. It falls between Thanksgiving and CHRISTmas so we named it THANKSMAS!!

This is our "adopted sister" Sandy . We adopted her a few years back and for some reason she stuck around.
We grew up together in some hard circumstances. We were in and out of foster care for years and despite the odds all my brothers and sisters excelled in life! Larry and I have always been close and were the best of friends growing up as you can see in the pictures.
Larry is one of the hardest working people I know. He got his first job working with me at Long John Silvers when we were teenagers so we could support ourselves due to our home life situation (boy did we have some fun times there).
Ever since then he has always worked hard to build a life and support himself. I fell on some hard times in my life and he was ALWAYS there to help me. He helped me once financially at a time in his life when i knew he really couldnt afford it. He always puts everybody in his life above his own needs. Four months ago after a 5 year courtship, he married his beautiful wife Lupina.

I threw Larry a bachelor party the night before his wedding and there was ony 2 people invited... Larry and I. That night for the first time ever we shared a beer together.

He and I had a long conversation that night. It was a night that for most men is shared with their dads. I am so grateful to have been "dad" that night. He spoke about how he wanted to be a good husband and take care of his wife because he said she deserves the world. He told me how good she has always been to him, and let me tell you...THAT WOMAN DESERVES A MEDAL!! HAHAH
Anyway, I digress.. so, Larry currently works full time for the City of Salem VA. and also works alot of overtime on that job to support he and his wife. Last summer Larry started up a lawn care business. It has truly excelled over the last months and has been another source of income for his family.
Unfortunately, this past week he suffered a Cerebral Venous Sinus Thrombosis. Basically, its a blood clot that formed in the vein that drains blood out of the brain. Its acutally a very rare occurrance. Thank the good Lord that he did not suffer brain damage but unfortunately he has suffered nerve damage in both of his arms. He has no feeling in his left hand and cannot use his right hand at all. He has great difficulty moving either arm. Right now he cant feed himself, go to the bathroom himself, cant even hold a phone to his ear. He is still hospitalized right now due to his blood still clotting for an unkown reason. His attending Neurologist is very optimistic that he will recover; however, it could take months and months for him to regain complete function of his arms and will possibly be on blood thinners for an extended amount of time.
This is where you come in. Larry has insurance but will still face numerous bills due to the type of insurance. He will also be going to re-hab on a daily basis whenever he is released from the hospital. Obviously he will be out of work until he is fully recovered. My brother Larry is and has always been the center of a good time when we get together. He loves all his friends and family and has always said how important it is to spend time with family because you never know when something could take a family member away. I have thanked God over and over that he didnt take Larry this past week. Larry is so much fun to be around and loves joking more than I do. Growing up we ALWAYS played mean jokes on each other. Once my sister and I woke him up before school by throwing water on him and then dumping baby powder all over him afterwards hahahaha! I have placed hot tobasco sauce in his mouth when he slept... put shaving cream all over him as he slept, drew on him with a sharpie as he slept and ALWAYS took silly pictures of him and I together as he slept while doing something to make fun of him... like in this picture where he fell asleep with his stomach hanging out.

I spent the entire day with him yesterday. He is very drugged up due to the tremendous pain he is in from the nerve damage so he slept most of the day. Everytime he woud wake up he wasn't the brother I know. He cried in pain and cried while asking me "how am I going to take care of my wife now Lisa", I cant put into words how much that hurt me to hear my once strong and invincible brother cry and seem so broken. I was not surprised to see him, yet again, putting someone elses needs in front of his own with that statement. I decided to take a selfie with him as he slept and was determined that the next time he woke up he would laugh instead of cry. It worked like a charm. I showed him this selfie and told him I was bored so I entertained myself. He loved it and despite his pain he actually laughed and for that brief moment I had my brother back.

Larry means the world to so many people. He has gone out of his way to help people who has less than him all his life. It's time for him to receive help now. I humble myself to come to you to ask your financial help for Larry. He is going to be facing an uphill battle to recover and he doesnt deserve to have to worry about his bills on top of that. I ask that you do what you can over the upcoming weeks and months to help my brother Larry. Larry has fallen on bad times through his life and has NEVER asked for help and always managed to pull himself up. It is not Larry that is asking for this ...it is his family and I because we know how deserving he is of being blessed with help on this one. I have never seen him so emotionally and physically broken before. My family and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to read about this awesome guy and thank you a gazillion times over for any help you can provide. Even if it's just a "share" on Facebook or email....God Bless!!! Hebrews 6:10 God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help him.
