Emma's Medical / Funeral Expenses
"God Only Gives Special Needs Children to Special People."
My cousin, Gina (Jones) Aaron and her husband Rob adopted Emma when she was 2 days old and weighed only 4.11 lbs. Emma was born with many severe disabilities that worsened over the course of her life. Emma's life expectancy was only 6 years but with the grace of God, Emma has lived to be 12 years old -- her birthday being November 16th where she will be 13. Over her life, Gina and Rob have done everything to ensure Emma had the best life ever! Years ago Gina contacted the Miracle Network and the fgamily was given a trip to Disney World. Emma has a star with her name on it there at the park. Rob built accessories for Emma's wheelchair to make her more comfortable when she was in the sun. The accessories were such a hit that, for a small time he sold them to other families for their disabled children.
This year it sounds as if Emma is going to have the most amazing birthday ever! Unfortunately it doesn't sound like she'll be spending it with her mom, dad and 4 sisters but will be spending it in heaven with Jesus! Emma will not be suffering and will be pain free after all these years.
Gina and Rob married in 1995 and have 5 girls ranging in age from 7 - 14 with two of the girls being adopted. Rob works as a senior auto mechanic while Gina stays at home to take care of Emma. Gina was able to finish her degree and obtain her teaching certificate but unfortunately was only able to teach for a very short period of time (1 year) due to Emma's health. She has been staying home and taking care of Emma 24-7 for several years. Hospice was called in about 2 months ago at which time Gina and Rob were told to start making arrangements for Emma's passing.
For months Emma has been in such excruciating pain that she just cries and screams and sleeps very little which means Gina and Rob get very little sleep. Because of the severe pain, they have to keep increasing Emma's pain meds which is now helping her sleep which is great because she is pain free while sleeping.
Hospice left yesterday afternoon telling Gina: Emma is close to her time; her eyes are glazed and her breathing is very deep. The fact that she's sleeping so much now, her temperature is changing. Gina asked, "how long?" The answer was: I can't say for sure but if you have family members out of state, they might want to plan on coming soon if they want to see Emma before her passing.
Gina and Rob's church, pastor and churchmembers have been amazing and have been delivering food to help.
Gina's sister (my cousin, Rhonda Jones Shed) and Gina's mom (my aunt, Donna Jones Batten) have been Gina's rock and, of course, her suband Rob. Neither Gina nor her husband know I'm creating this GoFundMe Account on their behalf. I wanted to plan an event in Angleton to raise money for them but it looks as though things are progressing much faster than we thought.
I feel as if Gina and Rob will need assistance for all of Emma's medical bills, hospice, her funeral expenses, and general living expenses for the time Rob will be off work.
Thank you! Please keep Emma, Gina, Rob and their girls in your thoughts & prayers.
