My wonderful mother has finished her 5th and final chemotherapy session!! Her 30th ; ) Birthday is next week and I want to give her the gift of confidence. In true mothers fashion she doesn't think she "needs" a nice hairpiece and doesn't want to put me or anyone out to get her one but I know she would truly appreciate one that's not so hot and itchy like the bargain one she has now. Shaving her head was so much more emotional than I thought it could possibly be. It's just hair right? It grows back.. It's not about the hair you loose but the label you gain. My mother is so much more than this cancer. I want her to feel like Carrie again. Mother and friend to all she meets. She is a proud survivor but I know when we go out in public that is the first thing people see. I hope this will make her feel more comfortable in her own skin again. This is more about showing her that she is loved and supported as she goes through the recovery process. So please feel free to send a happy birthday wish or kind words with your donation. I'll be reading them all to her on her birthday this up coming Monday before I take her shopping for her new doo! A bunch of small donations with kind words will mean more to her than the amount you give so please feel free to even donate a dollar! This is a surprise to please don't tell her!
